Studiobühne at Münster University

Since 1961, the university has had a permanent theater, the Studiobühne, located at Domplatz 23, which was renovated in 2018. On this professionally equipped small stage with 140 seats, university theater groups rehearse and perform plays of very different styles. Sometimes *Emilia Galotti* is performed in period costumes; other times, a spoken-word ensemble takes the stage. There are also staged radio plays, recitations, and spoken-word performances. Students can experiment artistically here on their own initiative, as part of courses, or through the open theater workshop.

The Studio Stage is also the place where research and teaching in literature, theater, and other humanities disciplines come together to discuss their topics with the public through workshops, readings, film screenings, and panel discussions.
