Geomuseum

In the Geomuseum, visitors experience the 13.8 billion year history of the Earth from the Big Bang to the present day. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the universe, explains why Münster was once located on the equator, what meteorites have to do with the formation of the Earth and what happened to the fish from the Cretaceous Sea. Unique exhibits from Westphalia, originals of high scientific value, are presented in 14 thematic areas. One of the highlights of the exhibition is the 43,000-year-old mammoth, found in Ahlen in 1910 and the museum's landmark.
