Wissenschaftler*innen des IfK auf der 76. ICA-Jahrestagung in Kapstadt vertreten

(03.06.2026) Die diesjährige Jahrestagung der International Communication Association (ICA) steht unter dem Schwerpunkt „Communication and Inequalities in Context“ und findet vom 4. bis 8. Juni 2026 in Kapstadt, Südafrika, statt. Auch Wissenschaftler*innen des IfK Münster sind bei der international relevanten Konferenz vertreten, bei der sich jährlich Kommunikationswissenschaftler*innen aus der ganzen Welt zu aktuellen Fachthemen austauschen.

Mit dem Konferenzthema rückt die ICA 2026 das Verhältnis von Kommunikation, Ungleichheit und gesellschaftlichen Kontextbedingungen in den Mittelpunkt. Im Fokus steht dabei unter anderem, wie kommunikative Prozesse soziale, politische, kulturelle und technologische Ungleichheiten sichtbar machen, verstärken oder auch herausfordern können. Damit greift die Konferenz zentrale Fragen der Kommunikationswissenschaft auf, die von politischer Kommunikation und Journalismus über digitale Öffentlichkeiten bis hin zu Organisations-, Wissenschafts- und Gesundheitskommunikation reichen.

Die Konferenz findet vom 4. bis 8. Juni statt und wird von verschiedenen Pre-Conferences, Panels und Fachsessions begleitet. Zu den angenommenen Beiträgen der diesjährigen ICA-Tagung zählen mehrere Beiträge, an denen Wissenschaftler*innen des IfK beteiligt sind:

Die International Communication Association wurde im Jahr 1950 gegründet und ist seit 2003 als Non-Governmental-Organization (NGO) mit den Vereinten Nationen assoziiert. Als Fachverband mit Hauptsitz in Washington D.C. zählt die ICA zu den wichtigsten wissenschaftlichen Austauschplattformen im Bereich Medien- und Kommunikationsforschung.
