Up to now, Imperia offers the possibility to link the so-called contact form in the flex modules "Contact data" and "Contact person/contact person" and by means of rubric parameters (see example screenshot). A link behind an entered, university-internal e-mail address thus leads, for example, to the page:

WWU IT and the "Web and Design" department have decided for security reasons that this form will no longer be used in the future and will therefore be deactivated. Instead, the command "mailto", which has now become the standard, will be stored in the two flex modules. In the output, visitors of our web pages can send an e-mail directly with a left mouse click with their own mail client or copy it with the right mouse button and paste it into any web mail service. We ask you to follow this way. In special cases there is alternatively the possibility to insert an e-mail form with the program "mailback" in the content area of a page (https://www.uni-muenster.de/IT.Technik/WWW/Mailback.html). However, this should only be done in places where a simple mail contact is not sufficient.

We will make the transition in two stages

  1. Starting August 1, 2022, the input options in the flex modules for the contact form will be removed; email addresses will only be linked via "mailto".
  2. At the beginning of 2023, we will disable the mail form. Links to the mail form will provoke 404 "not found" error messages. Please convert links to the contact form set up using rubric parameters by this date. Manual links to the contact form should also be converted manually by this time.
