The options – which, according to the handbook, were originally intended only for exceptional cases – to display headings in all capital letters (uppercase) have now been abolished in favour of accessibility and uniformity in presentation.
Regularly, we receive inquiries via the Web-Support regarding accessibility. We take this opportunity to provide you with the basic information once again.
As a measure to improve the accessibility of our central pages, the new navigation will also reduce the colour spectrum in the target group navigation to the colour "Ocean". Unfortunately, many of the colours displayed there do not meet the minimum contrast required by WCAG 2.1 AA, so that accessibility is not ensured. We have therefore decided to forego the multicoloured scheme in favour of accessibility
Time in line with the new navigation, a back-to-top button will be introduced. This will always appear at the bottom right when scrolling through a page and will disappear again after a few seconds if scrolling stops. The button is intended to simplify the operation of long pages, particularly in the mobile view.
On 30 June we will release an updated version of the mobile navigation. The aim is to achieve at least a few improvements in terms of optics and usability on mobile devices by the actual relaunch of our websites.
