What is geoinformatic ?
Geoinformatics is the science of modelling spatio-temporal processes computationally. Because of its trendsetting global challenges (e.g. climate change, distribution of water and food) geoinformatics is a key-issue for society.
Why geoinformatics at school?
Because of the various connecting factors to the topics mentioned in school and excellent career opportunities geoinformatical topics are added to the school curriculum.
As an interdisciplinary scientific discipline the geoinformatical topics affect various subjects in school for example geography, informatics, mathematics, physics and much more.
