Die Impulskraft Christlicher Soziallehre in Polen

Abstract

Zusammenfassung
Der Text beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, ob und inwiefern die Christliche Soziallehre noch Anregungspotentiale für das politische und gesellschaftliche Leben in Polen besitzt. Es wird anfänglich die These vertreten, dass ebenjene Impulskraft der Christlichen Soziallehre im traditionellen Sinn ziemlich schwach ist und weiterhin schwächer wird. Dies macht der Text an der Beobachtung fest, dass die Christliche Soziallehre hinter den Entwicklungen der modernen Gesellschaft zurückbleibt. Zur Untermauerung ihrer These geht die Autorin zunächst kurz auf Rerum novarum und die Rezeption in Polen im Laufe der Jahre ein, bevor sie sich im Hauptteil generell mit dem Einfluss von Rerum novarum sowie der Christlichen Soziallehre auf die heutige polnische Gesellschaft beschäftigt. Dafür beleuchtet der Essay verschiedene Aspekte, wie z. B. den Einfluss der Amtskirche auf die Öffentlichkeit, Erfolge und Misserfolge des Verbandskatholizismus, die schwache christliche Demokratie sowie das Problem der inhaltlichen Zukunftsfähigkeit der Christlichen Soziallehre. Dabei kann eine Reihe von inhaltlichen Aspekten der Christlichen Soziallehre entdeckt werden, die ihre Wirkung auch aktuell entfalten, zum Beispiel in der wirtschaftspolitischen Debatte. Damit kann am Ende die einleitende These wenigstens vorsichtig relativiert werden.

Abstract
This paper focuses on the question of the impact of Christian social teaching on the political and social lives in Poland today. The initial thesis is that the momentum of Christian social teaching in their traditional sense is feeble and declining further. This assessment is based on the observation that Christian social teaching have not managed to keep abreast of current social developments. In support of this thesis, this paper will first survey the reception of Rerum novarum in Poland over the years, before, in the main part, giving a general overview of the influence of both Rerum novarum and Christian social ethics on current Polish society. In this regard, several crucial aspects will be highlighted, such as the influence of the official church on public life, the achievements and failures of associate Catholicism, Poland’s weak Christian democracy, and the problem of Christian social ethics to provide substantial input for the future. In this process, a number of aspects of Christian social ethics are revealed that still have significant impact today, as for instance in the debates on economic policy. These results allow for a guarded modification of the initial thesis.
