Welcome to the Autonomous Intelligent Systems Group!

The AIS Group is headed by Prof. Dr. Malte Schilling and it is part of the Computer Science Department at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Münster.

Our research activities focus, on the one hand, on methods for adaptive motor control and (Deep) Reinforcement Learning, in particular, of locomotion in legged robots. On the other hand, we work on predictive Machine Learning models –as are recurrent neural networks or, more recently, graph neural networks– that allow and facilitate planning ahead or anticipate actions of other agent as required for control of interactive and intelligent systems. These topics are as well central to our teaching in lectures and we are happy to have you in a related area, if you are interested in a project or thesis.
