The students of the WWU discussed different aspects of human- environment interactions in North West Argentina with scientists and students from Argentina.

Topics of the conference were:

  • Ethnobotany ( nutritious/toxic plants for farm animals; knowledge of the shepherds
  • Grazing in the heights of the Andes (shepherd’s strategies in a risky environment) 
  • Maize as cultural good in the Andes (agrobiodiversity, agroecology, use of altitudinal belts, rites)
