New Image Videos: Clusters of Excellence Showcase Research, Identity, and Vision

Just in time for the critical phase of the Excellence Strategy, the University of Münster’s two Clusters of Excellence – Mathematics Münster and Religion and Politics – have released new image videos that vividly highlight what defines cutting-edge international research at our institution. Each video offers unique insights into current research topics, academic profiles, and dedicated support for early-career researchers – definitely worth a watch!

Religion and Politics
The new video from the Cluster of Excellence Religion and Politics takes viewers on a journey through the ages, illustrating how researchers explore the complex relationship between religion and politics, both historically and in the present day. Featured scholars include Egyptologist Prof. Dr. Angelika Lohwasser, political scientist Dr. Svenja Ahlhaus, Islamic theologian Prof. Dr. Dina El Omari, and church historian Prof. Dr. Hubert Wolf, who each provide glimpses into their diverse fields of inquiry.
The video also highlights plans for the new Campus for Theology and Religious Studies, as well as transfer activities and initiatives aimed at fostering early-career researchers.

Mathematics Münster
The new film from Mathematics Münster focuses on the Cluster’s integrative approach to research: fundamental mathematical questions are tackled across disciplinary boundaries and in close collaboration. The film captures the Cluster’s open, international, and highly collaborative research culture – featuring targeted support for early-career researchers, a strong sense of community, and numerous research achievements.
