Workshop of the Emerging Field “Exploring and Shaping Sustainability”
Sustainability ranks among the most pressing challenges of our time – scientifically, socially, and politically. Through its Emerging Field “Exploring and Shaping Sustainability”, the University of Münster brings together interdisciplinary expertise to collaboratively develop sustainable solutions.
The initiative integrates empirical, normative, and transformative approaches. Researchers from a wide range of disciplines – from political science and communication studies to landscape ecology, economics, philosophy, theology, and education – are working jointly to address global crises and foster sustainable development. Their efforts combine disciplinary excellence with inter- and transdisciplinary perspectives.
On March 21, 2025, another networking workshop of the Emerging Field took place. The focus was on exploring future collaborative research projects, identifying shared thematic interests, and developing a collective vision for the field. In addition, participants worked on a new website that will soon go live, serving as a digital platform to enhance the visibility of the initiative and its research.
