International conference Internationale Tagung „Roman Egypt in the Second Century CE. A Nexus of Transformation“

From 17 to 18 February 2026, the international conference ‘Roman Egypt in the Second Century CE. A Nexus of Transformation’ will take place in Basel at the Istituto Svizzero di Roma and DAI. The event is organised by Sabine Huebner and François Gérardin (University of Basel) as well as Patrick Sänger (subproject 1 of the FOR Xenocracy; University of Münster) and Andrew Lepke (University of Münster) and will examine the second century in Egypt from the perspectives of papyrology, ancient history, archaeology and environmental history.
