

International Symposium ‘Foreign Rule in Hellenistic Greece and Egypt. Local Contexts and Perspectives’ in Münster
From 22 to 24 October 2025, the international symposium ‘Foreign Rule in Hellenistic Greece and Egypt. Local Contexts and Perspectives’ will take place in Münster, organised by the Department of Ancient History and Subproject 1 of the Xenocracy Research Group. The event is organised by Prof. Dr. Hans Beck, FRSC (Münster) and Prof. Dr. Patrick Sänger (Münster). The symposium begins on 22 October at 18:15 with the lecture ‘Ein „Indian Summer“ der griechischen Poleis im 2. Jh. v. Chr.? Zu den Auswirkungen und Konsequenzen römischer Fremdherrschaft in Griechenland’ by Klaus Freitag (Aachen) in the Studiobühne of the University of Münster. This will be followed by a reception in the foyer of the Studiobühne.
The other lectures on 23 and 24 October will take place in JO1 at the University of Münster.
