Sustainability: Transformation as Enabler of Green Transitions

What drives – and what blocks – the transition to sustainable societies?

In this eight-week online course, co-organised by the University of Münster and MCI – The Entrepreneurial School, Master's students examine the foundations, barriers and pathways of a just and democratic sustainability transformation. Case studies on mobility, housing and food show how change can happen in everyday consumption and provisioning.

When: 12 October to 4 December 2026, online

Who: Master's students of all Ulysseus partner universities

Credits: 3 ECTS (5 ECTS with additional assessment)

Format: asynchronous and self-paced; a new unit with tasks is released every week

Applying for Jobs and Internships in Ulysseus Countries

Planning to work or do an internship in another European country?

This self-paced online course, developed jointly by all eight Ulysseus partner universities, prepares you for applying in the Ulysseus countries. You learn how to search for positions, write CVs and cover letters, prepare for interviews and networking with cultural differences in mind, and which legal aspects to consider.

When: any time until 31 October 2027, online and self-paced

Who: students (Bachelor, Master, PhD) and staff of all Ulysseus partner universities

Registration: open any time – self-enrol on the Ulysseus Moodle platform with your university account

FUTURABILITIES in Action: Embodied Grounding for Shapers of the Future

How can we contribute to a future worth living in the face of socio-ecological challenges?

This one-day workshop by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Sustainability Research (ZIN) at the University of Münster, part of the Ulysseus research group FUTURABILITIES, combines embodiment, improvisation and mindfulness. Through movement and shared experience, participants explore future skills – beyond “right” and “wrong”. The workshop is led by Brigitte Heusinger von Waldegge (Philipps-Universität Marburg). No prior experience is needed.

Course on Conflict & Crisis Management

How do you lead through a crisis – and resolve conflicts along the way?

Pandemics, disasters and emergencies call for professionals who can manage crises while addressing conflicts in diverse communities and organisations. In this online course by MCI – The Entrepreneurial School, you build skills in conflict resolution, crisis communication and emergency leadership, with a focus on supporting vulnerable groups and fostering resilience. Lecturer: Siegfried Walch.

When: 02 to 13 November 2026, online – live sessions in the evenings (6 pm to 10 pm CET) and on Friday afternoons (2:30 pm to 10 pm CET), plus asynchronous units

Workshop: Becoming Change Makers for Inclusive Entrepreneurship and Impact

You have an idea that could make a difference – and want to turn it into impact?

In this online webinar, students hear from entrepreneurs who drive inclusive change, put their questions to them in live Q&As, and can share their own ideas on an interactive Miro board. Hosted by the University of Münster and moderated by Namrata Sethi (Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences), the webinar is the result of close cooperation with colleagues across the whole Ulysseus alliance. It is open to students of all partner universities – no prior entrepreneurial experience needed.

Generative AI in European BusinessHow is generative AI changing the way European companies work?

This online course by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences introduces generative AI and its use in business. It combines foundational knowledge with practical applications and European case studies, covering AI tools and regulation, business operations and AI-supported content creation. You learn independently and at your own pace, with discussion tasks along the way.

When: 01 March to 31 May 2027, online and self-paced

imAGEin – Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in the Biology of Ageing

Want to understand how and why we age – and help shape healthier ageing?

imAGEin is a two-year international Master’s programme in ageing biology, run by Université Côte d’Azur (coordinator), Sorbonne Université, University of Cologne, University of Seville and University of Coimbra. It combines theoretical foundations with hands-on training in research and industry, includes mobility across Europe and leads to multiple degrees. Students specialise in Fundamental Research, Applied Biomedical Research or Innovation & Biotechnology. Ulysseus supported the creation of the programme.

When: 2027 to 2029 cohort (24 months), taught in English

Who: Bachelor’s graduates in STEM fields worldwide

Funding: Erasmus Mundus scholarships of 1,400 euros per month for 24 months for top-ranked applicants (subject to country quotas); tuition fee waivers for self-funded students

Application: 06 January to 06 March 2027

SMILE study programme - Sustainable Management in Life Sciences & Engineering 

SMILE combines specific and interdisciplinary training in the areas of sustainability management in life sciences with complementary training offered at each partner university and training in high-level digital skills, languages, critical thinking, creativity, innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship as key transversal skills to provide solutions to global problems.

To achieve the learning outcomes, the co-creation group established a 120 ECTS study programme, divided into two years (4 semesters, 30 ETCS each), with three main parts (the “Core semesters”, the “specialisation semester, and the “getting into the sector semester”).

From the structural point of view, SMILE begins with two core semesters including physical mobility. Students then choose a specialisation according to their preference and finish the programme by writing a Master Thesis.

1st semester: Foundations of Sustainable Management at MCI

2nd semester: Consolidation and general principles of Sustainable management at HSWT

3rd semester: Specialisations:

– Specialisation 1: Sustainable Food Systems, (University of Sevilla)
– Specialisation 2: Marine Conservation & Blue Economy (Université Côte D’Azur)
– Specialisation 3: Environmental Hazards & Risk Management (Université Côte D’Azur)
– Specialisation 4: Sustainable Agriculture (University of Montenegro)
