About this Call
The University of Münster is a member of the Ulysseus European University Alliance, a higher education consortium funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme. The aim of the Alliance is to deepen transnational cooperation in teaching, research, innovation, and university administration among the partner institutions.
Within the framework of an ongoing call, the Ulysseus Project Office Münster provides funding for events that contribute to the visible implementation of Alliance activities at the University of Münster and strengthen transnational cooperation with at least one other Ulysseus partner university. Funding is granted on a case-by-case basis by the project management of the Ulysseus Project Office Münster.
What Can Be Funded?
Applications may be submitted for funding to organize events at the University of Münster that are thematically or institutionally linked to the Ulysseus European University Alliance. The event format is open; supported formats include, but are not limited to:
- Workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Summer/Winter Schools
- Networking and matchmaking events
- Public lecture series and panel discussions
- Kick-off meetings and project meetings within the alliance context
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are employees of the University of Münster (academic and non-academic staff). In justified individual cases—particularly for student-centered formats—students of the University of Münster may also apply, provided that the organizational responsibility is supported by a staff member.
Funding Requirements
An application is eligible for funding if all of the following conditions are met cumulatively:
- Transnational collaboration: At least one additional Ulysseus partner university must be actively involved in the event. Purely passive participation (e.g., as an audience member) does not qualify as active involvement within the meaning of this funding scheme.
- Location: The event must take place at the University of Münster.
- Relevance: The event must demonstrate a clear thematic or institutional link to the objectives and priority areas of the Ulysseus European University Alliance.
- Funding limit: The requested funding must not exceed €8,000 per event.
Application
As this is an ongoing call without fixed submission deadlines, applications may be submitted at any time. It is recommended to submit the application at least six weeks prior to the planned event date to allow for timely review and allocation of funds.
Applications must be submitted using the application form via email to the Ulysseus Project Office.
Approval Procedure
Each application is reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the project management of the Ulysseus Project Office Münster. The review covers both formal eligibility and alignment with the alliance strategy. If necessary, consultation with the Rectorate or the relevant departments will take place. Approval does not constitute a legal entitlement, and available funds are limited.
After the event, a brief report on the use of funds (including a narrative report and supporting documents) must be submitted.
