On Monday, 20 October 2025, Tatiana Khripachenko spoke at the colloquium of the Department of Eastern European History (AOEG) on the topic: ‘Breaking the Imperial Nation of Refugees: Oleksaner Shul'hin and Interwar Initiatives for a Ukrainian National Passport.’
In her lecture and the subsequent discussion, the speaker emphasised the great significance that the granting of the Nansen passport issued by the League of Nations would have had for Ukrainian refugees, who at that time were still subsumed under the category of ‘Russian refugees.’
The lecture presented a case study from Khripachenko's postdoctoral research project.
