
Dr. Cathrine Widehammar
Cathrine is an occupational therapist and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health at Örebro University. She holds a combined position that, in addition to teaching at the university, includes clinical work at the Limb Deficiency and Arm Prosthesis Center at Örebro University Hospital, as well as research. Cathrine has extensive experience in hand therapy and prosthetic rehabilitation.
Her research focuses on the use of myoelectric arm prostheses, and in 2021 she defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Benefit and Use of Myoelectric Arm Prostheses: Outcomes, Influencing Factors, and Experiences.” Among other things, she has investigated optimal ways of learning to use multifunctional prostheses and has developed a training method for upper limb prosthesis use.
