Studio Stage

theatre performance – science – culture at the University of Münster

Since 1961, the University of Münster has had a permanent theatre at Domplatz 23, known as the Studio Stage, which was renovated in 2018. On this small stage with 140 seats, university theatre groups rehearse and perform pieces of varying character. Sometimes, an Emilia Galotti appears in classical costume, other times a chorus takes the stage – students can experiment artistically here independently or as part of courses. The Studio Stage is also the place where research and teaching in literature- and theatre-affine subjects, as well as other humanities subjects at the University of Münster, meet and discuss their topics with the public in workshops, readings, film presentations or podium discussions.
