Studiobühne

theatre performance – science – culture at the University of Münster

Since 1961, the University of Münster has had a permanent theatre at Domplatz 23, known as the Studiobühne, which was renovated in 2018. On this small stage with 140 seats, university theatre groups rehearse and perform pieces of varying character. Sometimes, an Emilia Galotti appears in classical costume, other times a chorus takes the stage – students can experiment artistically here independently or as part of courses. The Studiobühne is also the place where research and teaching in literature- and theatre-affine subjects, as well as other humanities subjects at the University of Münster, meet and discuss their topics with the public in workshops, readings, film presentations or podium discussions.

Gavin, an influential man, throws a party where he gathers people who rave about exclusive clubs, idyllic island getaways, past love affairs, and a new world order. Meanwhile, unrest erupts in the streets—military presence, roadblocks, purges… and early signs of a revolution? (The performance is in English.)
