Profile

The University of Münster has a small theatre with 140 seats and modern media technology at the *theatre performance* at Domplatz, which was renovated in 2018. However, the *Studio Stage* is much more than just a venue; as a transfer space, it has outstanding significance for the university. Thus, the *Studio Stage* is to be further developed as strategic infrastructure that acts cross-sectionally and publicly in the areas of research, teaching and *Art*.

The Studio Stage contributes to the profile development of the faculty of Art in the field of "Stage/Drama/Performance" at the interface of text, performance, mediality and digitality. As an institutionally anchored space, it enables the systematic examination of performance, mediality and digitality as constitutive elements of dramatic literature from the Early Modern period to digital dramatics.

The Studio Stage is a venue for artistically researching, innovative teaching formats for students, particularly in teacher training. At the same time, it supports students as actors in culture, research and discourse and builds cooperations with schools. The Studio Stage actively participates in the cultural life of the university with the area of specialisation in theatre and sets impulses, particularly in the area of democracy promotion, that have an impact on the public.
