Research

In my research, I study how long-term memory represents past experiences, and what determines whether a given memory is rich in perceptual detail or dominated by conceptual features. My main focus is on the factors that push memory representations toward one format or the other, including task demands, such as conceptual interference, and properties of the stimuli themselves, such as complexity and typicality. Predominantly I employ EEG, representational similarity analysis (RSA), and artificial neural networks (ANNs) as models of human visual processing to study these questions.
