How do we define „culture“? How do we define „morality“? Which influence has culture on our moral understanding? Which role does culture, through parental socialization, play in the development of prosocial behavior? These questions will be addressed in this seminar. Theoretical models concerning the constructs of culture, morality and prosocial behavior will be reviewed and discussed. Based on the knowledge acquired, students will develop new methods in order to assess the influence of culture-specific socialization on the development of prosocial behavior.
