Abstract: Continuity is a vital element for orchestras, fostering a sense of cohesion among its members. However, experience has proven the significance of perspectives “from the outside” that can bring fresh insights. Therefore the University of Music’s orchestra has for many years regularly invited guest conductors and in the summer semester of 2024, they eagerly anticipate the arrival of Marlon Daniel. Born in Chicago, where his musical talent was discovered at a young age, Daniel has built a successful career as a conductor in both the USA and Europe. He also has a lot of experience in conducting student orchestras. UniKunstKultur had the opportunity to interview him about his upcoming visit to the Münster University of Music, his work with students and the concerts planned.
