Congratulations! Ceremony for 101 Graduates at the Münster City Palace

(July 23rd, 2018) Last Friday, the Münster Department of Communication (IfK) celebrated 101 graduations. Two doctorate, 17 master graduates and 82 bachelor graduates received the congratulations of Prof. Volker Gehrau, managing director of the IfK.

Starting with a welcoming and short introduction to the field of Communication Science and the IfK, Prof. Gehrau lead the guests through the evening. The Ceremony was musically accompanied by jBM’s clarinet ensemble “Grenadill”.

This year, the graduates’ families and friends were given insights into the departments’ research by Prof. Jutta Röser. She presented results of the qualitative research project "Silversurfer 70plus. Qualitative Fallstudien zur Aneignung des Internets in der Rentenphase" she conducted together with master students. 

Cristian Wengert received this year’s prize for the best master’s thesis. Every year, the MedienAlumni Münster e.V. honors the best master’s thesis with 500€. Wengert received the prize for his thesis on explanatory factors for the willingness to express opinions on controversial political topics in public situations.

Then, two master graduate and two bachelor graduates gave a personal review of their years of study at IfK.

During the final flower ceremony, all graduates received the managing director’s congratulations and the obligatory flower.
