Student media projects
Practical media work forms an integral part of the Communication Science degree programme at the IfK. Bachelor’s students attend at least two practice-oriented media courses during the course of their studies. These courses are designed to develop fundamental practical skills and to convey applied knowledge. Their content and learning objectives focus on fostering independent and creative work in professional fields such as television and radio journalism, market research, media planning, public relations and advertising.
Students acquire specific foundational skills across different media formats and receive guidance in research laboratories, radio studios and teaching newsrooms, enabling them to produce relevant outputs independently. Through the thematic specialisation of individual courses, the practical media modules may also prepare students for a planned internship.
A selection of student media projects resulting from practice-based seminars is listed on the German-language page.
