Your Study Space at the Learning Center Computer Science

Whether you’re finishing your first exercise sheet, preparing for an exam, or just want to sit in a corner with a coffee, the Learning Center Computer Science in SRZ 116 is your place!

Here you’ll find:

• Cozy study spots for focused work, with group tables and whiteboards.
• Peer tutors from higher semesters who can help with questions about programming, exercise sheets, exam preparation, or any other study-related topics, on an equal footing.
• Coffee machine and cookies -  because studying goes better with a break.
• Open hours where you can simply drop by and work on your own projects or exercise sheets.
• Special topic sessions on relevant subjects such as LaTeX or Git.
• Back-on-Track office hours for catching up on missed content.
• Short workshops on topics such as learning strategies and managing your studies.
• The chance to find study groups or connect with fellow students.

And if you’re ever stuck or just want to talk, we’re here. No pressure, no judgement.

Dear students,
In the winter term 2026/27, the Learning Center Computer Science is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as a free study space. In addition, we offer daily office hours and, once again, a “Back on Track” office hour for Computer Science I (held in German). As always, you can find the exact office hour times on the main page of our Learnweb course. Short-notice changes are posted there as well.

Although our Learnweb course and materials are mostly in German, our tutors are also happy to help you in English! Do not hesitate to visit our office hours with any questions regarding your Computer Science lectures, or drop an email if you prefer electronic communication.

  Moin, mein Name ist Jan und ich studiere hier seit 2022 Informatik und Mathematik im 2FB und Informatik im BSc. Vor dem Studium habe ich eine Ausbildung zum Fachinformatiker für Anwendungsentwicklung absolviert und bin im Wintersemester 2026/27 erneut Tutor für Informatik 1. Ich freue mich darauf, euch bei euren Fragen zu unterstützen!

  Jacqueline Strob

  Mein Name ist Jacqueline, ich bin Psychologin und Mitarbeiterin von Prof. Vahrenhold. In diesem Semester freue ich mich, mit euch unsere neue Workshopreihe zu Lernstrategien und Studienbewältigung durchzuführen – vom Studienstart bis zur Prüfungsphase. Wir behandeln Themen wie Zeitmanagement, effektives Lernen, Motivation, Prüfungsangst und vieles mehr – immer mit praktischen Übungen, die ihr direkt anwenden könnt. Ich freue mich auf eure Teilnahme!

  Ich bin Pauline und Mitarbeiterin in den Arbeitsgruppen Safety-Critical Systems von Anne Remke.

  Vorher habe ich an der Universität Münster Informatik im Bachelor und Master of Science studiert und bereits als Tutorin u.a. für das Learning Center Informatik, Informatik I und II, und Rechnerstrukturen gearbeitet.

  Seit dem Sommersemester 2026 habe ich die Organisation des LearningCenter Informatik übernommen und biete die »Back on Track«-Sprechstunden an.
