    Studying

    • Perpignan is a good choice, particularly if you’re interested in a more practical and applied approach to geography. The university offers courses in both human and physical geography, often (though not exclusively!) with a focus on urban, spatial and environmental planning. There is hardly any purely methodological teaching here without practical application; particularly in the teaching seminars, you often go out on your own or in groups to carry out surveys, projects and analyses independently.
    • As the university is quite small, there are no course restrictions for international students, either within the degree programme or beyond.
    • Courses eligible for credit (including): Regional Geography (in full, except for the field trip), Applied Geography (in full), Human Geography II (1 module, 2 ECTS), General Studies (unlimited)
    • Lectures tend to be professor-led, with a frequent focus on historical background and alternative perspectives on geography

    Language courses

    • Language courses can be taken at other faculties (at the Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines)
    • Wide range of language courses available, though different levels are often mixed within the same course; take great care to choose a course that matches your own level

    Life

    • The university and the city are a pleasant size; you settle in quickly
