Advice from former students
Studies
- You can also take courses at other departments, but 50% of your courses should be at the host institution, with the exception of language courses.
- Taking courses outside your major must be coordinated with the Erasmus coordinator and your professors in Bologna.
- Language courses start at the A2 level, but there is an online self-study course at the A1 level.
- As a bachelor’s student, you can also take master’s courses, and vice versa.
Housing
- The search for housing takes place through Facebook groups and WhatsApp groups run by ESN (Erasmus Student Network). However, there are also many scammers, especially on Facebook, as well as on websites like HousingAnywhere and Spot a Home.
- According to the university, finding housing is no easy task, as there are always a large number of (exchange) students coming to Bologna. It’s worth starting your search for housing very early on.
Further information
- There are five different campuses (in different cities); you will be assigned to one of these five and are limited to that campus—changes are permitted only in exceptional cases. The campus in Bologna offers the most courses.
- For now, assume you will be studying at the campus in Bologna. If you are interested in another campus, we can check with the office in Bologna to see if that’s possible.
