In September, the 15 PhD students working on the GEO-C project have arrived at the three partner sites in Lisbon, Castellon and Münster. From the 13th to the 25th September, the Universitat Jaume I hosted the members of the European project GEO-C for an orientation camp. The project aims to develop a set of open software tools to facilitate the enjoyment of a more sustainable and open city, moving towards the so-called intelligent cities. At the orientation camp, all involved parties came together for the first time to discuss research, organisation and goals. The 15 PhD students then participated in a jointly-taught intensive course covering key areas relevant to smart (and open!) cities.
