The third subject area focuses on questions such as the following:

• How do the status and significance of traditional genres change in today’s globalised and medial world?
• Which rules determine formal transformations on the new media continuum between literature, film, TV series, video games, role playing games and other games? Which aspects of traditional forms have a modelling influence on new formats, which do not?
• How does literary form in a narrow sense change when literature enters into a constitutive relationship with the media?
