The world of publishing has become diverse – printed, electronic or even hybrid!
Münster University offers its members various options for publishing research results and multimedia works. In doing so, it pursues the goal of sustainably supporting research and teaching in the sense of Open Science [de] and good scientific practice.
Our publication series
Authors at the University have the option of publishing their book in a digital open access version in accordance with the Berlin Declaration. The digital version is available worldwide and free of charge on the University publication server miami. They also receive a print-ready file for ordering print copies from a publisher or print service provider of their choice.

TESTINSTANZ: University of Münster Academic Publications
The University of Münster supports its members in publishing research outputs in line with the principles of Open Science and good academic practice. As part of this, the ULB Münster has been publishing the series “University of Münster Academic Publications” since 2009, which enables cost-effective digital open-access publications on the publication server miami. To make the publication process easier, the ULB provides comprehensive advice and services – ranging from guidance on formatting, the creation of a professional cover and the assignment of persistent identifiers (such as ISBN and DOI) to the preparation of the final digital file. If they wish, authors may also arrange a parallel print publication – at their own expense – through external service providers.

TESTINSTANZ: FID Benelux – Open Access Publications
As part of the DFG-funded programme Discipline-Specific Information Services, the ULB Münster has been in charge of the Specialised Information Service Benelux / Low Countries Studies (FID Benelux) since the beginning of 2016. The FID-Benelux strives to make as much as possible of the relevant academic literature on the Benelux countries accessible online without restriction. To this end, the FID provides free open access publication services for e-journals and e-books to scholars in the Benelux region. Parallel print publication is also possible for an additional fee. For the first or second publication of individual articles and documents, the Benelux-Doc repository can also be used.
