CiM-IMPRS training program

The mandatory CiM-IMPRS training program comprises

A) an interdisciplinary lecture series in which the CiM-IMPRS faculty members present basic knowledge as well as recent decelopments in their areas of research (1 hour per week).

B) progress reports in which CiM-IMPRS students present and discuss aims and results of their projects. The coordinator attends these reports in order to discuss the scientific contents and the presentation style of the reports with the students (1 hour per week).

C) The PhD students independently organize the International Münster Graduate School Meeting (once during the PhD).

The voluntary CiM-IMPRS training program comprises

A) various workshops in which students are being trained in scientific techniques as well as in "soft skills" like image analysis and processing, statistics, scientific presentation and writing, communication, career planning and application skills.

B) retreats with scientific or career-related contents.

C) excursions to companies and institutions.

D) German language courses

Both, mandatory and voluntary training events are free.

Interdisciplinary Graduate School Meeting

CiM-IMPRS students organise an interdisciplinary meeting every year thus making international contacts and excercising project management skills. The programme includes a variety of talks and poster presentations covering the fields of biology, chemistry, biophysics, mathematics and computational science.
