You are warmly invited to the Inaugural Event of the Center for Data Science and Complexity (CDSC)
on 9 February 2026 in the Schloss (Aula and Foyer).
Under the motto “Connecting Disciplines Through Shared Methods” the event brings together researchers from a wide range of academic fields who apply, advance, or provide theoretical foundations for methods from Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, Mathematical Modeling, Scientific Computing, and Complex Systems. Our goal is to showcase methodological interfaces, promote cross-disciplinary exchange and drive forward the development of a vibrant research network within our university.
In addition to top-level keynotes, you can look forward to a broad poster expo & networking session, offering space for academic discussion, interdisciplinary exchange, and new impulses for collaborative research. The event is aimed at all researchers at the University of Münster – from PhD candidates to full professors – as well as the broader university community.
Learn more about the CDSC and its diverse activities in research, teaching, and knowledge transfer, and take the opportunity to connect across disciplinary boundaries!
Registration for participation
We warmly invite all researchers at the University of Münster, from PhD candidates to full professors, as well as the wider university community, to attend the event. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. Registered participants are welcome to enjoy coffee breaks and lunch, which will be provided on site. To help us plan accordingly, please make sure to register by 30 November 2025 at the latest via
Call for Posters
We invite all scientists at the University of Münster who apply or advance methods from Data Science, AI and Machine Learning, Mathematical Modeling, Scientific Computing, and Complex Systems to present these research activities. We particularly encourage researchers from non-STEM disciplines who use such methods to submit a poster – if you are undecided, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Posters can be registered until November 30 at the latest via:
https://indico.uni-muenster.de/e/cdsc-expo.
As space and the number of exhibition stands in the foyer are limited, we request that each research group present their activities on one single poster. Please note that, if the room reaches capacity, we may have to decline additional submissions.
Regarding the structure and content of your poster: As the Expo aims to foster university-wide networking, we suggest presenting a broad overview of your related research activities. This way, your poster can highlight connections and provide entry points for discussion beyond the scope of a single project.
We will send you further details by email once we have received your submission.
