The digital edition of Ibn Nubātah's Dīwān created by ALEA is acessible in a test version.
We use the oXygen for the digital edition. It allows a large variety of functions with the markup language XML according to the TEI standards. In close collaboration with our IT specialist Dr. Christian Lück, we modified the oXygen to meet our needs as arabists. That included adapting the oXygen author mode to act like the interface of a word processor and adding new features needed to edit premodern Arabic poems and prose works.
During his work with oXygen, PD Dr. Hakan Özkan (now professor at the University of Aix-en-Provence) created tutorials explaining the use of oXygen for critical editions of texts in Classical Arabic. The tutorials were published on YouTube. They give detailed description, for example, on how to mark text variants, quotes from the Koran and other sources, intertextual references and many more steps. Find them here.
