Internationale Konferenz beschäftigt sich mit dem Einsatz von Bildern in der Glaubensvermittlung

Das starke und nachhaltige Interesse der Jesuiten an Bildern und Bildtheorie steht im Mittelpunkt einer Tagung des Exzellenzclusters „Religion und Poltik“, die vom 8. bis 10. Oktober in Münster stattfindet. Die Wissenschaftler untersuchen dabei interdisziplinär den jesuitischen Gebrauch von Bildern (nicht nur konkret visueller, sondern auch sprachlicher, poetischer und rhetorischer) als eines der herausragenden Merkmale der katholischen Ordensgemeinschaft. Organisiert wird die Tagung „Jesuit Image-Theory in Europe and the Overseas Missions 1540–1740“ (Bildtheorie der Jesuiten in Europa und Missionsstationen in Übersee von 1540 bis 1740) vom mittel- und neulateinischen Philologen Prof. Dr. Karl Enenkel, der am Exzellenzcluster das Projekt B2-5 „Die neulateinische Emblematik“ leitet. Sie findet im Hörsaalgebäude des Exzellenzclusters im Raum JO 101 an der Johannisstraße 4 statt. Eine Anmeldung zu der Konferenz mit Vorträgen überwiegend in englischer Sprache ist bis zum 1.
