How does the Children's Lectures work?

Here are the most important questions and answers at a glance.

Do I need to register for the Children's Lectures?

For data protection reasons, registration is required exclusively via our Indico system, both for in-person events and online lectures. The registration link will be available on our website 3–4 weeks before each event.

Who can participate?

All children aged 8 to 12. The Children's University is not suitable for younger or older children.

How should I behave in the lecture hall?

Food and drinks are not allowed in the lecture hall. Just like at school, everyone needs to remain quiet during the lecture so that all children can enjoy and benefit from the experience.

Quiz Question / Prize Draw

For each lecture, we provide a quiz question. The question will be sent to all registered children after the event. Anyone who answers at least three questions correctly during the annual programme will be entered into a prize draw at the end of the year, with the chance to win some fantastic prizes!

Can adults come along?

Seats in the lecture hall are primarily reserved for children. Parents and accompanying adults are welcome to use the time to take a break, for example in one of the nearby cafés.

How long do the lectures last?

Lectures usually last 45–60 minutes, meaning they finish at around 5:00 or 5:15 p.m.

Is the lecture hall accessible?

Wheelchair users are kindly asked to register by phone in advance: +49 251 83-32212.

How much does the Children's Lectures cost?

Nothing! Admission to all lectures is free of charge.
