You can decide which stations to visit based on your personal interests. We do recommend, however, visiting at least four stations so that you are eligible to win a gift certificate from the University Campus Store.

    Orientation Station  Title/Content
    Station 1

Lecture: ‘Career orientation – How does it actually work? Ideas and inspiration for students and their parents’

The end of your school days is approaching, and you still don't know what you want to do professionally? Your friends and family are giving you good advice, but you still can’t make up your mind? This lecture is about career orientation strategies: find out what you want, what you can do and what is most important to you. Only then can you start looking into suitable opportunities for yourself in a targeted manner.
As parents, you obviously want to support your children in this process. But how can you do this effectively? What should you look out for, what are the stumbling blocks, and what will help the process move forward? How can you strike a balance between exerting too much influence and providing too little support?

Speaker: Andrea Schröder, MA, advisor for career orientation, applications and internships at the Careers Service of the University of Münster

    Station 2

Workshop: ‘Finding a career I enjoy – A workshop for young people who are still unsure’

Which apprenticeship is right for you? This workshop aims to help you figure that out. First, you take an online vocational field test that gives you some initial orientation. Then, together, we develop questions that will help you choose an apprenticeship. With these questions, you then talk to apprentices on site and learn first-hand what everyday working life is like. Finally, you are asked to reflect on how well the occupation suits you – and thus gain more clarity for your own decision.

The workshop is aimed at students who are still at the beginning of their career orientation and is limited to 15 participants. If you are interested, please bring your own mobile phones or tablets.

    Speakers:
Cathrin Nauhauser, teaching degree student in the area of vocational colleges
Ina Richter, MA, project assistant in the Educational Science Department with a focus on career orientation

    Station 3

Information stands on apprenticeship professions; workshop and laboratory tours; hands-on activities

11 of our 22 apprenticeship professions will be standing by to present their training opportunities. Discussions with trainers and trainees, as well as hands-on activities and tours of laboratories and workshops, are designed to give you as realistic a picture as possible of the wide range of training opportunities available at the University of Münster.

    Station 4

    Application portfolio check with advice

Bring your own application portfolio and let’s get started! We will review your application together and point out common mistakes. Is the format okay? What about spelling mistakes and forms of expression? What should be included in the cover letter and how should I phrase it? What should be included in an application portfolio and what should be left out?

    Station 5

    Simulation of a job interview

In this workshop, we simulate a job interview with you. What can you expect and who will you meet? How do you get the conversation off to a good start? What should you pay particular attention to? Of course, we have some tips and tricks to help you overcome uncertainty and nervousness.

    Station 6

Azubi-Fit – Health promotion is not a question of age – Info stand and hands-on activity

Our University offers a special health promotion programme for vocational trainees. Whether it’s sport, nutrition, relaxation or communication, there are always ways to improve one’s personal well-being at one’s place of training.
And as an added bonus, you can collect bonus points for gifts from the University Campus Store or even an extra day off.

The University quiz: The University as an employer

With over 8,000 employees and 154 vocational training places, the University is one of the largest employers and vocational training providers in the Münsterland region.
Get to know the University even better in a fun way and collect your eighth point in the Hop-On, Hop-Off Challenge.

  • The Pharma Campus – We'll see you there on 4 September 2025

Preparations are already underway, and we look forward to meeting you!
