IDEAS: Call for innovative research ideas now open – applications by 3 August 2026

With its new funding line IDEAS, the University of Münster supports innovative projects at an early stage that cannot yet be funded through established internal or external funding schemes. The programme is aimed at projects that break new ground – whether through an unconventional research question, a novel methodological approach, or the exploration of a previously uncharted field of research.

Funded projects are selected through an innovative selection process based on a lottery. In doing so, the University of Münster has deliberately chosen a format that gives bold ideas a fair chance.
