Kick-Off Workshop for University-Wide Data Science Initiative

With the aim of strengthening collaboration and visibility across computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, and digital humanities, the University of Münster hosted a university-wide kick-off workshop today.

Representatives from numerous faculties and research centers, members of the Rectorate, and the central administration came together to shape the strategic development of the Data Science Initiative. At the heart of the discussions was the planning of an interdisciplinary Data Science Institute, designed to consolidate and advance research, teaching, and knowledge transfer in this dynamic field.

Participants contributed with great commitment and concrete ideas, laying the groundwork for future joint study programs and teaching initiatives. Additional formats for exchange and collaboration are planned for 2024. The Future Lab supports the development process of the institute and coordinates the next steps.
