Studies

The studio stage is used primarily for teaching modules in philological subjects for which the ‘stage’ setting is relevant, and in some cases even essential. The range of modules extends from practical sessions in the General Studies programme or career-oriented skills, through literary studies and practical theatre seminars, to project-based modules such as those on radio plays or drama teaching methodology. In the winter semester 2026/2027, for example, as part of the career-oriented skills (BOK) programme, practical sessions on ‘Stage Training’ led by Julia Neumann, ‘Speaking into a Microphone’ led by Ulrich Nebert, and ‘Theatre and Recitation in German Lessons’ led by Xenia Multmeier will take place in the Studio Theatre. Julia Bodenburg, together with Xenia Multmeier, is offering the literary studies seminar (advanced module in Literature, German Studies) ‘Choral Theatre, Choral Drama, Choral Speech’. As part of the General Studies programme, students can get a taste of the theatre in the Theatre Workshop (Julia Bodenburg).
