Róža Domašcyna (Bautzen) presents a selection of her poetry published in 2026. Felix Bräuer (Münster) will perform between the poems. In the poems of this Sorbian author, Sorbian-German bilingualism comes across as entirely natural. Whether she is narratively wandering through the layers of time within a house, employing technical terminology and finding concrete terms, or – as in a linguistic web – capturing fish names from several languages, the result is gripping ‘overpaintings’ and polyphonic laments – so that the ‘ghosts may watch’ and ‘the small brackets of memory’ may shine. A central theme in the author’s poems is a respectful approach to nature, as well as the ongoing destruction of the ancient Sorbian settlement area through lignite mining in Lusatia. Felix Bräuer performs his own compositions and improvisations based on Sorbian songs.

An event organised by ArDeLit in collaboration with the Ev. Forum and the vhs Münster
Presenter: Georg Schaaf.
