The Prince of Guastalla has taken a fancy to Emilia Galotti. However, since she is about to marry Count Appiani, the prince grants his chamberlain Marinelli full authority to prevent the marriage. Events take their course, dragging the characters ever deeper into ruin... Lessing’s tragedy premiered as early as 1772 and is more relevant today than ever. The play focuses on themes such as abuse of power, inappropriate behavior, and the question of who bears what responsibility. The Campus Theater Münster makes its debut with this production.
The CTM is an official university group at the University of Münster, consisting of students interested in theater from a wide variety of disciplines.
