Gavin, an influential man, throws a party where he gathers people who rave about exclusive clubs, idyllic island getaways, past love affairs, and a new world order. Meanwhile, unrest erupts in the streets—military presence, roadblocks, purges… and early signs of a revolution? Pinter depicts a world of increasing moral decay, in which even the death of old friends is portrayed as insignificant compared to the demise of cherished institutions. In four short scenes, he offers glimpses into a bizarre world of the powerful and the would-be powerful through conversations between couples, friends, and acquaintances. Party Time is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French, Ltd. (The performance is in English.)
