Exam Show in the anniversary year:

On July 23, 2025, another big exam show took place. This time, highlights from the institute's history were presented and, as always, outstanding student performances were on display in the university sports hall on Horstmarer Landweg. Around 1,000 guests were captivated and thrilled by the anniversary special.

 

Conclusion on this festive event: The presentations on the institute's success and innovations over a century, were a real highlight in the anniversary year.

Opening congress of the University of Münster on the occasion of the 27th sports science dvs university day, at the same time closing of the 100-year anniversary

  • with a speech by Prof. Dr. Ansgar Thiel, Rector of DSHS Cologne, followed by a panel discussion on the future of sports science.

Alumni Party

As part of the anniversary year, the first big alumni party took place in the late afternoon/evening of May 17, 2025 with many familiar and new faces in the new B-Side at Münster's Mittelhafen. The event was officially organized by the Lampenfieber agency and the 500 tickets were quickly sold out. With food and drink from the B-Side Café, (live) music from “Reisegruppe Hardrock” and DJ NoMono from Antenne Münster, the old fellow students and lecturers celebrated the reunion in style. The special edition of the traditional IfS sweaters/shirts also sold like hot cakes. The special thing about the event was that all proceeds were donated to 3 social projects:
