International workshop of particle physicists on parton showers and resummation

When protons and nuclei collide in accelerators like the LHC in Geneva with almost the speed of light, they often burst into thousands of tiny elementary particles. The theoretical description of these events with so-called parton showers and resummation methods is highly complex and the focus of a workshop organised by Jun. Prof. Dr. Anna Kulesza and Prof. Dr. Michael Klasen of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Münster from June 10 to 12, 2014 in Johannisstraße 4. They will welcome over 40 experts from the U.S., Great Britain and many other European countries.
