Printed Books
Almost all books are freely accessible and shelved according to the classification system of the NLM:
- approx. 50,000 monographs, compendiums, dictionaries
- approx. 15,000 textbooks
- Health collection [de] – for patients / laymen
- Reference holdings textbooks (not borrowable)
Dissertations are not freely accessible and must be ordered. Dissertations and theses database of the Medical Library [de]
E-books
The university network of the University of Münster currently provides about 30,000 books online, including about 10,000 (bio)chemical and (bio)medical monographs and 250 online textbooks.

Learning media (easystudium)
With its tablet loan, the library provides students with iPads as well as digital books and apps. They can study anywhere, around the clock, annotate lecture notes, and share them with their fellow students.
