Workshop and symposium with international guests from Canada and the UK

(19.12.2023) For a week, texts were read, theories were pondered, codes were written and data was analyzed: Eight scientists from the University of Calgary (Canada) and the King's College London (UK) completed an intensive hackathon together with the team of Prof. Dr. Thorsten Quandt. Their joint research work was focusing on the interplay of foreign information manipulation and the communication of extremist groups.

In addition to working on scientific publications, ideas for future projects were discussed and possibilities for a scientific and student exchange between the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary and Department 06 at the University of Münster were explored. The event concluded with a public symposium in which Prof. Jean-Christophe Boucher (Calgary), the British scientist Dr. Ofer Fridman (London) and the IfK team presented their research work.

It was agreed to continue this promising format and to intensify the Canadian-German-British exchange.
