From Academic Pressure to the Political Shift to the Right: Student Magazine “Druck” Published
(October 7, 2026) How and where do we feel pressure?
From academic pressure during college and challenges in the workplace to a political shift to the right, 15 students from the IfK explored the many different facets of pressure. This led to the creation of the magazine of the same name, “Druck", during the summer semester of 2026.
As part of the hands-on media seminar “Magazine Journalism—Exciting Stories, Thoroughly Researched,” students learned practical fundamentals of magazine journalism. Under the guidance of Fiona Weber-Steinhaus, head of the international desk at ZEIT ONLINE, the students developed their own interviews, feature stories, and profiles. They conducted interviews, wrote articles, took photographs, edited their work, and designed the layout of their projects.
This year’s magazine showcases just how diverse the topic of “pressure” can be: The students gained insight into working with high-risk dogs at an animal shelter and learned how stressful procrastination can be. They interviewed Prof. Dr. Mouhanad Khorchide about the advocacy work he had to do for his Islamic theology department and spoke with former Münster KoWi student Tarkan Bagci, the new host of “Wissen macht Ah!”
