Deputy Professor: Christoph Kuhlmann at the Münster Department of Communication during the Summer Semester 2019
(27.02.2019) In the summer semester 2019, PD Dr. Christoph Kuhlmann, currently working at the Department of Empirical Media Research and Political Communication (Technical University of Ilmenau) will teach at the Münster Department of Communication. He substitutes a W3 professorship that is vacant since October 2017 and that will be filled again in the Winter Semester 2019/20.
Christoph Kuhlmann main areas of teaching and research are communication theory, political communication, media reception and effects and empirical research methods. For his teaching at the University of Ilmenau, he received the teaching award three times. In the field of research, his postdoctoral thesis „Communication as Reference to the World (Weltbezug)” (2016) in which he developed the concept of reference to the world (Weltbezug) and made it fruitful for the communication research, was especially honoured. For this publication, he received the theory price 2017, awarded by the German Communication Association (DGPuK).
