She completed her PhD in Communication Studies at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil, 2022) and works with mixed methods to analyse socio-ecological communication conflicts related to sustainability and extractivism. Her current postdoctoral research at the Institute of Communication examines environmental (dis)information on land use and sustainability, focusing on interactions between grassroots initiatives and political actors. From 2009 to 2023, she conducted participatory and action research with socio-ecological movements across Brazil’s Atlantic coastline, working with peasants, riverine, Indigenous, and local communities. She also has experience with civil society organizations and social movements, particularly in science communication and sustainability outreach. From 2015 to 2023, she taught at leading Brazilian universities, including the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
