Joint Institute for Individualisation in a Changing Environment

The Institute for Individualisation in a Changing Environment (JICE) unites researchers systemically investigating individualisation in changing environments in an interdisciplinary discourse between natural sciences, social sciences and humanities – with the aim to establish a new Science of Individualisation (SOFI).

The JICE was founded by Bielefeld University and the University of Münster in 2021 and builds on the Transregio Collaborative Research Centre "NC³" (CRC-TRR 212), in which biologists and philosophers have been working on a new synthesis of individualisation since 2018. In addition, members of the JICE cooperate in the collaborative research association "InChangE" as part of the "Profilbildung 2020" of the state of NRW.
